Should Israel be “allowed” to continue the war in Gaza?

The whole reason for the existence of the Iranian backed military group Hamas is to destroy Israel. Israel wowed in return to remove Hamas from the face of the earth to ensure its own survival. Both were clashes for decades already, but never in the intensity we witness since October 2023 Israel has the problem to show the world it is "the good guy". The IDF (Israel Defence Force) has to keep civilian casualties as low as possible while handing out severe blows to the Hamas terrorists, until they are either wiped out, or no longer pose a serious threat. Israel walks a tight rope to convince Israel backuppers and the world that they are doing the right thing by eradicating Hamas. Thus, should Israel be allowed to wage an even more unrestricted war against the Iran backed terrorist group?

Retaliation 7 fold

Several Israelite politicians said on many occasions, that who ever attacks Israel will see a retaliation seven fold coming at him, although other multiplicands also have been mentioned by others. And Israel makes good on that promise. 2006, when Hamas captured 1 soldier of the IDF, Israel killed 416 militants and civilians in the ensuing clashes. And when Hamas killed and abducted more than 2,000 Israelite citizens in October 2023, the death toll as retaliation in Gaza as of summer 2025 stands at over 30,000 Hamas militants and civilians — a factor well over 10.

Israel again makes good on its promise, that when being attacked, retaliatory strikes will be 7 (or 10, or whatever figure an Israelite politician comes up with) fold. That raises a question. What might happen, if the world, mainly its main backer the US, should force Israel to abandon its attempt to eradicate Hamas, because the cost of civilian lives continues to soar? If you look at the numbers of the past, present and future, the answer might be Yes.

The number of civilian casualties should of course be as low as possible. A scenario in the perfect world would be zero. But we don't have the military technology (yet) to limit the number of innocent people in a war zone to ideally zero. But still, an equation which sums up the grand total will suggest to give Israel free reign to remove Hamas from the surface of earth.

Here is why I say "yes", if Israel shall be allowed to defend itself at all. Hypothetically, if the IDF would has been "allowed" to wipe out Hamas in 2006, the number of civilian casualties would had been much higher than 416 without doubt. But because Hamas was much weaker back in 2006, there would had been a higher chance that Israel could had wiped out large portions of the Palestinian terrorist group, so that they would pose no serious threat to Israel in the future. Thus October 2024 would never had happened; there would had been zero casualties.

And continuing this hypothesis, if Israel would be "forced" to stop fighting Hamas now, for example if Donald Trump threatens to remove all military aid to Israel, Hamas would recover, become even stronger, and may be assault Israel in a new attack in may be 2029, may be killing 10,000 or more citizens of Israel in a coordinated attack in Tel Aviv. There will be a response of the IDF, again ten fold or more. 2029/2030 might then see the total destruction of the Gaza Strip with all of the inhabitants, with fatalities exceeding 200,000.

Conclusion: Should Israel be forced to stop fight and wipe out Hamas in 2025/2026, the numbers of fatalities in Gaza, especially under civilians, might soar X fold to what we have in 2025, when Hamas has recovered by the end of this decade

All of the said under the question, whether Israel should even be allowed to exist. Should militant Islamic groups take the ground instead, violating basic human rights from their citizens? May be both religions (Islam as well as Judaism) are bad, because they only cause violence and death? Thus both religions should be forbidden? May be both should be replaced with a new God.
